Paraffin’s long carbon chain molecular structure allows it to form a 100% occlusive mask with exceptional elasticity and heat retention. Occlusion and hydration are known to increase the permeability (ability to be absorbed) of molecules into the skin. When an occlusive paraffin treatment is applied to the skin, it prevents loss of water and directly increases hydration levels by up to 50 percent.
